Her career was long, and she appeared in some true classics.  <i>Touch of Evil<\/i>, <i>The Manchurian Candidate<\/i>, etc.<\/p>\n<p>I came across the following quote this morning, in one of the obits I read.  Leigh described her experience filming <i>Touch of Evil<\/i>, directed by Orson Welles.  I like the quote because it shows her generosity, her intelligence.  The filming of the movie was a &#8220;great experience&#8221; for her, and yet she was disappointed with what ended up on the screen.  She said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Universal just couldn&#8217;t understand it, so they recut it. Gone was the undisciplined but brilliant film Orson had made.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>She was 77 years old when she died.  Her daughters, Kelly and Jamie Lee Curtis, were both at her side when she died.<\/p>\n<p>Rest in peace, Ms. Leigh.
