\nMy love of Dinner in America<\/a><\/i> is well documented – so I was very excited to see Adam Rehmeier’s new collaboration with Kyle Gallner (albeit in a film Rehmeier didn’t write) in Carolina Caroline<\/i>. You could look at it and say, “Oh, that’s Bonnie and Clyde”, and of course those cinematic references are present … but the characters are different and I was just so touched by Carolina Caroline<\/i>‘s love story. Samara Weaving and Gallner create one of the more valid onscreen romances I’ve seen in a long time – like, they feel like a real couple, and how it develops feels authentic and organic. You only realize how rare this is – particularly in our weirdly sexless movie era – when you actually see it done well. Plus, there are bank robberies and costumes and two lovers on the run!
