{"id":2272,"date":"2005-01-06T16:22:36","date_gmt":"2005-01-06T21:22:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=2272"},"modified":"2022-10-09T15:03:09","modified_gmt":"2022-10-09T19:03:09","slug":"the-adventures-of-cashel-continued","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=2272","title":{"rendered":"The adventures of Cashel, continued"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As we all know, Cashel got through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=2268\">his first day at a new school <\/a>relatively unscathed.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the update.<\/p>\n<p>There is a &#8220;bully on the bus&#8221;.  Of course there is.  Isn&#8217;t there always a bully on the bus?  As I remember from my own childhood, the school bus could be treacherous territory, because there was only one adult around to monitor things, and that adult was also &#8230; er &#8230; driving.  So some pretty sketchy <i>Lord of the Flies<\/i> behavior could flourish on the bus.  I lived in terror of the girls who sat in the back of the bus.  They were evil incarnate, frankly.<\/p>\n<p>So Cashel has had a run-in with &#8220;the bully on the bus&#8221;.  The &#8220;bully on the bus&#8221; is a girl.<\/p>\n<p>He told my brother (his dad) all about it.  Apparently, this little she-witch (I want to wring her neck) hit Cashel over the head with a bottle, and declared loudly, &#8220;YOU&#8217;RE GROSS.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cashel confided seriously to his dad, &#8220;The bottle didn&#8217;t hurt too bad.  But it did hurt that she said &#8216;you&#8217;re gross.&#8217; &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So much for that whole sticks and stones thing &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we all know, Cashel got through his first day at a new school relatively unscathed.
