— The curtains <\/a>my mother made me (and that my father installed) are gorgeous. I can’t describe how much I love them, and how they make my room feel warm and safe. I got many many compliments on the curtains. Kudos, Mum. And Kudos to Dad, the installer.<\/p>\n

— I have re-learned that my apartment is really cool. People like to be in it, they enjoy the atmosphere. I lucked out. I BEYOND lucked out.<\/p>\n

— I have learned that my postcard of Marilyn Monroe wearing blue jeans and lifting barbells, which I have on my bulletin board in the kitchen, is startling and exciting to all who see it.<\/p>\n

— I have learned that my “rigid aromatherapy<\/a>” practice has a soothing and calming effect of all who enter my space. “Is that lavendar?” “Ooh, I love the scent of this<\/i> one … what is it?”<\/p>\n

— I have learned that the foyer to my building truly needs to have an overhead light in it, because without one? As I let people in, it felt like I should be holding a drippy flaming candleabra and a long monk’s robe. “Welcome to my medieval darkened castle.”<\/p>\n
