This is my new favorite thing – The OEDILF<\/a> – the Omnificent English Dictionary in Limerick Form – a dictionary (in the works) where all definitions are reader-submitted limericks.<\/p>\n

For example, here is the definition to “Cadbury Egg” (first of all: HA!):<\/p>\n

Though Jewish, I envy your Easter;
\nOn Cadbury Eggs I’m a feaster.
\nThey’re chocolate and smooth,
\nAnd my mood they will soothe.
\n(But they’ll add too much weight to my keister!)<\/p>\n

Here is the definition to the word “agog”:<\/p>\n

As instructed, a yoga tutee
\nInverted herself in a “vee,”
\nThen considered, agog,
\nWhat a down-facing dog
\nMight do to a down-facing tree.<\/p>\n

Okay, I can’t stop.<\/p>\n

The definition for “aviatrix” is brilliant, I think:<\/p>\n

A stunt aviatrix (girl flier)
\nCame down in a swamp deep and dire.
\nShe was lunch for a croc,
\nBut the studio’s doc
\nCalled it “death from consumption” (the liar).<\/p>\n

It’s hard to believe you could have a limerick for the word “avascularity” but here it is:<\/p>\n

You suffer from avascularity?
\nNo offense, but I doubt your sincerity.
\nWith no vessels for blood
\nYour whole body’s a dud,
\nAnd you won’t pass your genes to posterity.<\/p>\n
