Otherwise Jimmy couldn&#8217;t be on the list.<\/p>\n<p>My additions to the list:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; <i>Catch 22<\/i>, by Joseph Heller<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; <i>The Mysteries of Pittsburgh<\/i>, by Michael Chabon<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; <i>Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man<\/i>, by James Joyce<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; <i>Mating<\/i>, by Norman Rush<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; <i>To Kill a Mockingbird<\/i>, by Harper Lee (uhm &#8230; debut and only)<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; <i>Catcher in the Rye<\/i>, by JD Salinger<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; <i>Carrie<\/i>, by Stephen King (that was his first, right??  Am I totally wrong?)<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; <i>The Bone People<\/i>, by Keri Hulme (again: debut and only novel &#8211; which sucks &#8211; it is a fantastic book &#8211; she is MARVELOUS &#8230; anyone else read it??)<\/p>\n<p>Oh shit, how could I forget:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; <i>Anne of Green Gables<\/i>, by LM Montgomery<\/p>\n<p>What are some great debut novels that you can think of??
