{"id":5459,"date":"2006-10-10T16:25:49","date_gmt":"2006-10-10T20:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=5459"},"modified":"2011-05-01T14:35:51","modified_gmt":"2011-05-01T18:35:51","slug":"indiana-jones-denied-tenure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=5459","title":{"rendered":"Indiana Jones Denied Tenure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcsweeneys.net\/2006\/10\/10bryan.html\">This is hilarious.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Two snippets I liked &#8211; but the whole thing is hysterical:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Far more times that I would care to mention, the name &#8220;Indiana Jones&#8221; (the adopted title Dr. Jones insists on being called) has appeared in governmental reports linking him to the Nazi Party, black-market antiquities dealers, underground cults, human sacrifice, Indian child slave labor, and the Chinese mafia.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And this part made me laugh out loud:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Though the committee may have overstepped the boundaries of its evaluation, I find it pertinent to note that Dr. Jones has been romantically linked to countless women of questionable character, an attribute very unbecoming of a Marshall College professor. One of these women was identified as a notorious nightclub singer whose heart he attempted to extract with his hands, and whom he then tried, and failed, to lower into a lake of magma.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Uhm, yeah.  Trying (and failing) to lower someone into a lake of magma while on a business trip is pretty much tenure-denial behavior.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcsweeneys.net\/2006\/10\/10bryan.html\">Here&#8217;s the whole thing!<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is hilarious.
