He makes well-chick from <i>The Ring<\/i> look like a nice (if maladjusted) girl.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and I loved this bit from the post:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>On the Berlin stage, he turned a one-line bit part into a triumph: playing a servant, he was supposed to come on and simply say, \u00e2\u0080\u009cFrau Schultz is here to see you.\u00e2\u0080\u009d Instead, Lorre entered insolently, slowly lit a cigarette, and turned Frau Schultz\u00e2\u0080\u0099s arrival into an extended improv interrogation with the lady of the house (a portent of his later scene stealing). <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Anyway, <a href=\"http:\/\/mattzollerseitz.blogspot.com\/2007\/07\/5-for-day-peter-lorre.html\">go read the whole thing<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A wonderfully observant 5 for the day.
