Weekends of my life have been lost in this manner. And fuggedaboutit if a Real World Road Rules Challenge is on. I am so there. I won’t pick up the phone. Be warned.

— I can’t stand cake. I will not eat cake. As one can imagine, this made birthday parties a nightmare as a kid. I had a hard time saying “no” to stuff, because I was shy, didn’t want to offend – and then when I would meekly say, “No, thank you, I don’t like cake” – of course I was greeted with shrieks of horror (and also judgment): “YOU DON’T LIKE CAKE???” Too funny – a couple years ago, I was at a bridal shower with some good friends. The bride was cutting up the cake, turned to me, and I said, “I don’t like cake.” One of the other guests at the shower gaped at me and said, “YOU DON’T LIKE CAKE???” Some things never change. I hate cake. If you want to throw me a birthday party, get me an ice cream cake. I will love you forever.

— When I was a teenager, I loved Ralph Macchio so much that I actually shed a couple of longing tears about it. I lay in bed, aching with my love.

— I can pretty much answer any question worth asking about Lucy Maud Montgomery and Charlie Manson. A strange couple, they have nothing to do with each other, but I have autistically studied them both.

— At one point in my life, “Eye of the Tiger” was my favorite song.

— As a matter of fact, there are a lot of things that the rest of the world appears to adore, as a matter of course, which I cannot stand. A short list:
— peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
— french fries with ketchup
— bananas
— anything where fruit is baked INTO anything. For example: I love blueberries on top of my cereal. But I will not eat a blueberry muffin.

Oh, and lastly – things I’m not ashamed of but probably should be:

— How WILD my love life was in my mid to late 20s.

Thought I was done, but I realize now I am not – I’ve got some more. Here they be:

— I have had to be led, weeping, from a bar by my friends. I have been that girl. On more than one occasion.

— When I was a teenager, I thought The Bell Jar was the best book I had ever read in my life.

— I wash my hands over 10 times a day.

Taken from Curly Let me give it a whirl: — I too absolutely love Real World, Road Rules, and nearly die of pleasure when a Real World marathon is on.
