I loved his performance on <i>Glee<\/i>, and the free openness of his voice and body language.  He was beloved by his castmates.  The clip above is from the pilot.  I remember thinking at the time, Jeez, this show is kind of fantastic.  I am biased, obviously, but I still felt that the show was special, from the get-go, and this was the number that did me in.  And watch Monteith, and how accessible he is, how available.  He&#8217;s a big strapping guy, a foot taller than everyone else, and his body shows the awkwardness of not quite knowing what to do with himself, but that just makes him more honest, more open: there is no artifice in him, no protection, no holding back.  It was touching to see.
