{"id":7167,"date":"2007-10-25T19:39:27","date_gmt":"2007-10-25T23:39:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=7167"},"modified":"2010-07-18T08:33:54","modified_gmt":"2010-07-18T12:33:54","slug":"ceci-youll-love-this","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=7167","title":{"rendered":"For Ceci:"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was walking through the belly of the Port Authority bus terminal last week, I happened to have my camera on me &#8230; and when I have my camera on me, it&#8217;s like my actual VISION changes, and instead of not seeing things, because I see them every day &#8230; I see EVERYthing, as a possibility, as something to be saved.<\/p>\n<p>When you enter the subway terminal 1 floor down in Port Authority, you come thru the turnstiles &#8211; and over to the left, randomly, is a tiny store. A small glass box &#8211; surrounded by tile and concrete.  You need to be buzzed in to even enter.  It&#8217;s a &#8220;portrait&#8221; store &#8230; elaborate frames, cheeseball paintings &#8211; and the other day, as I walked by, it&#8217;s like i saw, for the first time really, the absurdity of such a store.  The lighting in there, as opposed to out in Port Authority where it is fluorescent and practical, is dramatic and elegiac.  Almost religious in nature.<\/p>\n<p>Check it out.
