{"id":7226,"date":"2007-11-08T08:54:53","date_gmt":"2007-11-08T13:54:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=7226"},"modified":"2010-07-18T11:21:00","modified_gmt":"2010-07-18T15:21:00","slug":"flowered-cabs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=7226","title":{"rendered":"Flowered Cabs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You know, just yesterday &#8211; I found myself thinking: Okay, what&#8217;s up with the flowers on some of the cabs? Many yellow cabs now have big colored flowers painted on their hoods and their back trunks.  You see them everywhere.  I&#8217;ve noticed them &#8211; and liked them very much &#8211; but had no idea why &#8230; was it part of a cab union thing?  Was it a certain group of cabbies who were driving hybrid cabs?   Is it part of a green initiative?  But why some cabs and not others?   I had no idea.  I&#8217;ve been seeing them for a while &#8211; and they&#8217;re kind of cool-looking &#8211; careening up and down the avenues &#8211; with their fellow regular yellow cabs &#8211; a kind of whimsical touch to the grimy reality here.  Anyway, I thought to myself, only yesterday: &#8220;I should Google &#8216;flowers on cabs&#8217; just to see what comes up &#8230;&#8221; But then life got away from me yesterday, as it often does, and I forgot.<\/p>\n<p>How happy am I then, and gratified, to see <a href=\"http:\/\/newyorkdailyphoto.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/garden-in-transit.html\">today&#8217;s post on NY Daily Photo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ask and ye shall receive.  It&#8217;s also a much more interesting story than the one I came up with in my mind.
