Special Ops woke up at 3 a.m. and found herself in this odd statue-esque pose, as though at any moment, even in her sleep, she might feel the need to write down some notes on the Mensheviks, or underline some great Robert Conquest sentence to add to her Special Ops files … and it’s better to be always ready for such an emergency. Falling asleep while reading a novel, or a book of poetry is one thing.
