Very interesting thoughts. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=6065\">Here&#8217;s my post<\/a> on that butchered masterpiece.) And I&#8217;m glad to see <i>King of Comedy<\/i> getting some love.  <i>Taxi Driver Shmaxi Driver<\/i>, I think Rupert Pupkin is DeNiro&#8217;s most chilling and brilliant creation.  Recently, I was raving to my friend <a href=\"http:\/\/bookeywookey.blogspot.com\/\">Ted<\/a> about it &#8211; he hasn&#8217;t seen it and I was basically <i>begging<\/i> him to &#8211; and just thinking about the scene with Rupert in the basement surrounded by lifesize cardboard cutouts &#8211; is enough to make me want to commit myself into a mental institution for the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>BRILLIANT acting.
