{"id":7999,"date":"2008-04-23T08:19:58","date_gmt":"2008-04-23T12:19:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=7999"},"modified":"2022-10-15T08:07:44","modified_gmt":"2022-10-15T12:07:44","slug":"interview-with-matt-zoller-seitz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=7999","title":{"rendered":"Interview with Matt Zoller Seitz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filminfocus.com\/essays\/behind-the-blog-matt-zoller-se.php\">really nice interview with critic Matt Zoller Seitz<\/a> who also heads up the fantastic blog <a href=\"http:\/\/mattzollerseitz.blogspot.com\/\">House Next Door<\/a>, which I write for as well.  I was lucky enough to meet Matt &#8211; we went to a press screening of <i>There Will Be Blood<\/i> together and then went to a diner and talked for three hours.  It was one of those moments where I realized: man.  Blogging has changed my life.  I do not know this man &#8211; this is the first time I am meeting him &#8211; but we have none of that social awkwardness, because we have been reading each other for a couple years now, and so all that preliminary stuff is out of the way and we can just <i>get to it<\/i>.  I wrote a bit about that particular bloggers-meeting-phenomenon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=7340\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Matt is a fantastic writer &#8211; I can&#8217;t pick out my favorites (but many of his personal favorites that he lists in the interview are my own) &#8211; although I will say that<a href=\"http:\/\/mattzollerseitz.blogspot.com\/2007\/06\/sopranos-mondays-season-6-ep-22-made-in.html\"> his re-cap of the controversial finale of <i>The Sopranos<\/i><\/a> is magnificent &#8211; so it&#8217;s nice to see him interviewed.
