Long anticipated.  Questions are awesome, thought-provoking (your SECOND favorite Francis Ford Coppola movie?  Love it!) &#8211; and the answers are even better.  I was unable to participate in the last two quizzes because of everything that has been going on &#8211; but I gave this one a shot.  I put my answers in the comments section over there, but true to form, I have put my answers below &#8211; in pictorial form. I really CHOOSE what movies I want to see in the theatres now.  Other than that, I wait.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3) Bronco Billy (Clint Eastwood) or Buffalo Bill Cody (Paul Newman)?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"buffalo_bill_and_the_indians.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/buffalo_bill_and_the_indians.jpg\" width=\"535\" height=\"713\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>4) Best Film of 1949.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Toss up between:<\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"2036311086_91b68beefd.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/2036311086_91b68beefd.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"306\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nand<\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"whiteheat2.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/whiteheat2.jpg\" width=\"548\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jimmy Cagney&#8217;s breakdown in the prison is an all-time high point for me in the history of movies.  But boy, The Third Man!<\/p>\n<p><strong>5) Joseph Tura (Jack Benny) or Oscar Jaffe (John Barrymore)?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"twentiethcentury2.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/twentiethcentury2.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"453\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>6) Has the hand-held shaky-cam directorial style become a visual clich\u00c3\u00a9?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes.  If used well, it&#8217;s awesome. More thoughts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/?p=9277\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sincere:<\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"924248.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/924248.jpg\" width=\"305\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nMay be a bit sentimentalized but I grew up in a town like that and have a lot of fondness for it &#8211; and although it is a cynical movie, the representation of small-town life and its regular rhythms is quite spot-on.<\/p>\n<p><strong>23) Best horror movie creature (non-giant division).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"ue_samara_emerges2.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/ue_samara_emerges2.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"382\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nI am thankful for caller ID every time I see that movie.  Tell that beeyotch I&#8217;m not in!<\/p>\n<p><strong>24) Second-favorite Francis Ford Coppola film.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"coppola31.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/coppola31.jpg\" width=\"700\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>25) Name a one-off movie that could have produced a franchise you would have wanted to see.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"master-and-commander.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/master-and-commander.jpg\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nAlthough there is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/hostednews\/ap\/article\/ALeqM5hZH-6jUwsTB2cN0D4yz2UkwMBLUgD99GBV0O1\">this<\/a>, so perhaps there is hope.<\/p>\n<p><strong>26) Favorite sequence from a Brian De Palma film.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Opening sequence of<\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"blow-out.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/blow-out.jpg\" width=\"275\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nTo quote within context: Untouchable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>27) Favorite moment in three-strip Technicolor.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"wizardofoztechnicolor1.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/wizardofoztechnicolor1.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n28) Favorite Alan Smithee film. (Thanks, Peter!)<\/p>\n<p>Ha!!<\/p>\n<p>I was coming up blank but then I saw someone else&#8217;s choice:<\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"deathgunfighterOS.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/deathgunfighterOS.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"677\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nLove Richard Widmark.  Good ol&#8217; Allen Smithee.  What underrated work he does.<\/p>\n<p><strong>29) Crash Davis (Kevin Costner) or Morris Buttermaker (Walter Matthau)?<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nOh what the hell, I&#8217;ll take Crash.<\/p>\n<p><strong>30) Best post-Crimes and Misdemeanors Woody Allen film.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"iycyec.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/iycyec.jpg\" width=\"576\" height=\"304\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nIt is my favorite Woody Allen film in general.<br \/>\nDiane Keaton: &#8220;I&#8217;m gonna bust this case WIDE OPEN.&#8221;<br \/>\nWoody Allen: &#8220;What the hell has happened to you?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And then of course there&#8217;s the homage to <i>Lady from Shanghai<\/i> that makes up the ending.<\/p>\n<p><strong>31) Best Film of 1999.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"magnolia-176.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/magnolia-176.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n&#8230; although<\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"21744226-21744229-large.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheilaomalley.com\/21744226-21744229-large.jpg\" width=\"403\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nis a sentimental favorite.
