<\/a><\/p>\n\nPioneering documentary film-maker Albert Maysles (Grey Gardens<\/i>, Gimme Shelter<\/i>, and the list goes on from that stunning standpoint) died just last month<\/a>. He has two films coming out posthumously, one being Iris<\/i>, about Iris Apfel, the style maven with the enormous glasses, and In Transit<\/i> (in which he worked with four other directors), about travel on the passenger train line The Empire Builder (a busy train route that goes across the American plains and into the Pacific Northwest.) <\/p>\n It’s playing at the Tribeca Film Festival, and it’s one of my favorite things I’ve seen thus far. <\/p>\n My review of In Transit<\/i> is now up at Rogerebert.com.<\/a> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Pioneering documentary film-maker Albert Maysles (Grey Gardens, Gimme Shelter, and the list goes on from that stunning standpoint) died just last month.
