Sir Francis and Elizabeth

I meant to link to this post yesterday. Carlos, at No Such Blog, has a wonderful post up about Elizabeth I, Sir Francis Walsingham, and, at the end, Christopher Marlowe.

I love going over to Carlos' blog - there's always something interesting over there.

Thanks Red...

Were I a little better organized, I would post a whole passle of links to some of the many great "Francis and Elizabeth" web pages out there.

Unfortunately, I'm not a little better organized.

But go check out the Marlowe Society (http://www.marlowe-society.org/). The Christopher Marlowe scholars tend to be pretty darn cool, and they know a lot about Walsingham's intrigues.

Oh I forgot...

Of course Kit Marlowe's greatest work is the epic tragedy "Tamburlaine", about our favourite Uzbek cavalryman. (serendipity is usually the most serendipitous...)

It is a phenomenal read. I have never seen it performed on the stage, but I used to sort of compulsively check the schedule at the Kennedy Center, just in case they randomly decided to host a production of all 10 acts of Tamburlaine.

Read it online at:
