Heh heh heh

Ignorant armies clashing by night on a darkling plain. Oh yeah, that's me.

The description is spot on. I do think a lot of things suck. People do find me depressing. I am political. But ... "pacifist"? No.

What poem are you? (Found this via Wheels.)

Which poem are you?

Dover Beach by Matthew Arnold

You're probably strongly political, and a pacifist. Hey, and you're also slightly depressing. You think a lot of things suck and are pointless. Congratulations!

I was "Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carroll. Somehow that feels just right.

Can't be.

"The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" by T.S. Eliot. I love the description:
God, you're indecisive. You're not that great, but you don't know if you want to accept that. You appreciate beauty and observe things others may not, but you're also hopelessly impaled on your own foolish romanticism. Go you.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Scott: I thought I knew every Sylvia Plath poem backwards and forwards and I do not know that one.

Googling it right now.

Posted by: red at June 10, 2004 04:48 PM

Ohhh, just Googled it. Now I remember it.

It's not even in any of her books, though. It's just a thing she wrote when she was in her freshman year at Smith.

I know.

I'm nuts.
