What Classic Pin-Up Are You?

Oh. My.
Posted by: Dan at November 1, 2004 04:47 PMI love Bettie Page, actually. I wish I could wear the "Bettie Page bangs" (or you could also call them the "Barbara Stanwyck bangs") but they would make my face look awful.
Posted by: red at November 1, 2004 04:53 PMGrrrr, baby!
Posted by: Scott Janssens at November 1, 2004 05:01 PMI'm Bridgette Bardot. (Did I spell that right?) I don't know if I'm skeeved out or not. On the one hand, I like thinking of myself as a still-beautiful French sex symbol, but on the other hand, I only own one dog.
Posted by: Lisa at November 1, 2004 05:07 PMBrigitte Bardot, in her heyday, was a major babe. Do not be skeeved. :)
Posted by: red at November 1, 2004 05:54 PMI'm Brigitte too, apparently.
Posted by: Anne at November 2, 2004 12:41 AMAnd now I have a silly flirty French song in my head. Ca-ca-ouette...
Posted by: Anne at November 2, 2004 12:46 AMI still remember fondly a long-ago pic in Time Magazine showing Miss Brigitte, her short shorts slightly unzipped, thumbs hooked tantalizingly at the opening... Ca-ca-ouette indeed!
Posted by: Bernard at November 2, 2004 10:58 AMI recently saw a special on Betty Page. She was one-of-a-kind. She disappeared for many, many years, but a young fan tracked her down through her brother. The show interviewed her with her face unlit. She said she didn't want to "disappoint" all her fans after all these years. Her life is a very captivating story. There used to be pin-up clubs wherein amateur photographers paid to photograph selected models. Betty Page had no equals. There was an enthusiasm and life force that came through in all her photos.
Posted by: DBW at November 2, 2004 11:06 AMHey Sheila. I'm Betty Grable. love, Kate

I read a very interesting book/tribute to this woman. She was very religious, actually - and always felt that she was best photographed outside. She loved animals. To this day, even as an elderly woman, she says she never felt there was anything "dirty" about the photos - and I think that that is kind of the appeal. There was something sweet about her.
Posted by: red at November 2, 2004 12:00 PMit, um, seems that were i so inclined i too would be bettie page.
how very singular.
Posted by: Mr. Bingley at November 2, 2004 12:16 PMHey! I'm Betty Page, too!
Some of the questions required some "outside of the box" thinking, but I'm pretty open-minded :-)
Posted by: Chris at November 2, 2004 12:16 PMTo me, m'dear, you have always been a sex symbol.
