Demystifying Divas ...

The Demystifying Divas are a group of female bloggers (Cake Eater Chronicles, Fistful of Fortnights, Feisty Repartee, and Just Breathe) who - once a week - take on a different issue/question - and each write their own individual post about whatever the issue is. It's a highly addictive series. And it's fun, because of course - everyone has a different perspective on things, so it's interesting to read all the different takes on, say: women and jewelry, strip clubs, metrosexuals, etc. etc. A lot of times, men get in on this too, and post their own thoughts from their side of the gender fence. One of the things I love about the series is the civility of the tone across the board, and the willingness of all participants to be open and honest. It's cool.

Because everyone involved is a good and thoughtful writer, the series has become part of my Essential Reading.

(By the way, if you're looking for consensus, or unanimous agreement, then this series most definitely is not for you. The fun of it is to float around from blog to blog, pondering all of the well-thought-out different responses.)

This week, the question is: Is it better to have a lonely heart than a broken heart?

Hmmm, this has set forth a series of associations and memories in my mind. I question myself. Hm, which is better? I thought about my Salieri post. What do I say? Lonely or broken?

Personally, I thought that Sadie's Diva-Response was a lot of fun. She looks at the stereotypes of Miss Lonelyheart and Miss Brokenheart, and explains why (in her view) it is better to be Miss Lonelyheart. I love it!

And so - I'm going with Lonely for 800, Alex!

The Demystifying Series happens every Tuesday! Definitely check it out.

I'm not one of the ladies, but thanks for the glowing review.
I’m with Chrissy, that’s one heck of an endorsement.
Thanks.

Thank you so much. It's praise indeed from such a great thinker as yourself.

Sadie - I hope that asshole "Anonymous" didn't come from my link to you! People are so weird sometimes. Honestly, I just don't get it.

Oh don't worry about it, Red. We have a few that stop by every week. Unfortunately, I forgot to reset my comments settings and he/she/it got through. The IP is rather telling though - and I doubt they popped over from here;-)

sadie: Phew!

A couple of times I've linked to things (and I only link to stuff I like - I almost never link to something in a critical way) only to find that one of my readers went over and were rude, or obnoxious to the person I linked to. Like: day-um, BAD MANNERS. Nuh-uh, no you didn't!!

There are broken hearts and there are Broken Hearts.

The first kind is a good learning experience which makes you appreciate love more, even if it takes a while. The second kind you don't get over.

If you can get over it, a broken heart is probably better than a lonely heart. If you have the second kind, you will just have both, forever.

CW - yeah, I see what you mean. When you add the capital letters, it becomes a rigid ideology, a Way of Life, as opposed to a temporary situation.
