Cary has milk dunked with a small flashlight for illumination.

btw…I tried to stay away from your blog today but I couldn’t temper my idolatry.

hahahahahaha Believe me, I understand. I idolize myself.

    Yes, love that glowing-milk story!

  3. So I take it that the MUBI connection worked, or did you find another source for The Housemaid?

  4. sheila says:

Peter – yes, MUBI worked out great. Thank you!

  5. sheila says:

(although I will always think of that place as The Auteur’s Notebook.) :)

Ahhh, Suspicion. I remember watching that with my mother one Sunday afternoon, back in the days when TV stations had movies on Sunday afternoons when there wasn’t any football, instead of commercials for abdominal machines or space-age cutlery. I remember the glowing milk scene with almost total clarity, and I also remember how my thinking throughout the movie kept switching back and forth, almost every sixty seconds: “He’s not trying to kill her. Oh wait, he’s totally trying to kill her. Oh, no he’s not. Oh yes he is!” All the way to the last scene.

Jaquandor – I love to hear memories like that. Movies that make an impact – not just emotionally (although it obviously did that for you as well) but visually. The glass of milk scene is such a stunner.
