Loved this movie. Guffawed with laughter watching it and am still laughing about some of the bits of schtick. And then there’s Kurt Russell, playing an Evel Kneivel-type character, complete with white jump suit. I mean, really? What more do you need.
I may be easily pleased but as I said elsewhere, I think it is one of my best qualities.
Having watched Soldier and Dark Blue recently (and loving Tombstone), I think Kurt Russell is very under appreciated.
Me too. He’s one of my favorite actors. I think (not to be morbid) that his is the type of career that will grow in stature and importance only from the point of view of perspective, after he has passed (which hopefully won’t be any day soon). It’s not a self-congratulatory career. He’s not nominated. But he’s the best. Consistently. And people really LOVE him and have done so for, what, 50 years? Who else can say that?
Love him. And Art of the Steal is super fun!
Couldn’t agree more. His style is very much the opposite of the ‘look at me in my wig and accent and I’m ACTING here’ performances that get attention. Dude looks like he’s not even working at it, so folks think he isn’t.
And not that there’s anything wrong actors full of Method-y goodness. I just have a fondness for old-school types like Mr. Russell, who I feel could just as easily work in 1940s Hollywood as today.
Oh yes. He is such an old-school type!
