R.I.P., Fay Wray

Fay Wray , of everlasting “King Kong” fame, just died, at the age of 96.

“I would stand on the floor and they would bring this arm down and cinch it around my waist, then pull me up in the air. Every time I moved, one of the fingers would loosen, so it would look like I was trying to get away. Actually, I was trying not to slip through his hand.”

Rest in peace, Ms. Wray.

(Seriously)I just saw that reported on MSN home page and as usual it is sad news but she lived a long life.

(Not seriously) In related news, three stories below was the shocker that Alice Cooper’s snake has overeaten!

Which leads one to wonder what does it eat? Does it eat pigs? If so, did it make a pig of itself?

Does his snake have an eating disorder? Is it off the snake fat farm for it? Will it go to rehab with other famous snakes?

Has someone informed the whatsitz…Enquirer! Did they miss this?

Celebrity gossip never fails to keep me in stitches.

scrolling the wires today, when I saw wray-obit above (rick) james-obit, I thought: “Link Wray died??”
since these things come in threes…

I’m pretty certain Naomi Watts has the Fay role in the upcoming remake. Of course no one remembers the original character’s name, just ‘Fay Wray.’

I wonder if William Wegman will go to the funeral?
(the dog called Man Ray came first, so Fay probably just fit with that.)

And I love the Alice Cooper school-supplies commercial.

Ms. Wray was offered a part on the King Kong remake (the Dino DeLaurentis version that almost killed Jessica Lange’s career). Remember Dwan? No….it’s spelled correctly. She declined:

“I’ve done that movie. It’s a masterpiece. Why do it again?”

She had a string of mediocre movies and 3 Broadway shows. She was also a screen writer and a humanitarian. She sounded like a lovely woman.

That was a classy move by the Empire State folks…after all, Ms Wray was arguably the single most important and memorable moment in its’ history.
