    I was going to say “The Fountainhead” but then I looked it up and now know how wrong I can be. (Well, I already knew that.) I won’t spoil the fun. But I do need to get here sooner next time. All the lines I did know are already taken. Grrr.

    Great guess!! This first line is really challenging (in terms of guessing the book, I mean)… you’d have to really know how the book starts to get this one.

    I included it because I think the book itself is great!

    Bernard – not only will I be doing more of these, but I will also be doing one that features LAST lines.

    I’ll make an announcement of when I’ll do it beforehand … so you can fully participate.

    Brave New World. Admittedly, I cheated on this one – I only suspected the title and had to pull the copy off he bookshelf to confirm.
