First day of school

… for Cashel. A brand new school, as he begins his brand new life. He’s been such a brave boy, really a tremendous sport … and I feel this strange sense of relief and happiness to think that he is now where he is …

and today is his first day of school.

Thinking about him SO MUCH right now!!! Wish I could watch the whole thing on web cam or something.

Go, Cashel!!

I’m sure he’ll be fine. He’ll probably have SO much to talk about when he comes home today. Aside from the whole ‘fill out your information card’ thing that happens in EVERY class on the first day. I remember that much. Maybe he should get a surprise when he comes home today. Something that he’ll keep with him. Any Ideas?

He’s such a great kid, from your descriptions.

    Goooo Cashel!

P.S. Also, you’re such a great Aunt, worrying about him like that.

You people will appreciate this ‘first day of school story’. My niece, Neive, is about to start Kindergarten tomorrow. She has the face of an angel (long, golden locks; petite heart shaped face) but the soul of Dennis Rodman. (i.e. “Bad as I wanna be”) SO, Mrs. Rodman HATES anything girly. She likes to wear ripped jeans, grungy baseball hat turned backwards- you get the picture. My sister, Christy, (who is the ultimate in femininity and the queen of all girly-girls) told Neive that she had to wear a dress the first day of kindergarten. Neive asked, “Why?” and Christy, all flustered, said, “Well, ALL girls wear a dress the first day of kindergarten!” (?!!?)
Neive paused, thought a moment and said, “Well, then I guess I’ll start on the second day, then.”
    GO NEIVE!!!!

  10. red says:

Christy – hahahaha I can so see her just making up a random rule like that!!

  11. Betsy says:

Neive sounds like Andre – I would tell him that he had the choice of picking up the toys or going to bed – he would shrug his shoulders, kiss me good-night, and leave the toys to me.

  12. Just1Beth says:

    I LOVE that boy!!!
