I’ve been submitting photos to TPW’s photo contests for a while now. It’s really fun to see what people come up with. And today, one of my photos was chosen as a finalist. It’s emotional, it’s the first one in the list. One of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. Totally candid.

Congratulations. It’s a beautiful shot.
On a side note, she chose one of my pictures once. I was thrilled to pieces!
It’s a wonderful photo.
Congratulations, Sheila! It is indeed a candid pic, a shot of fresh smiles, happiness, good time between the characters!
I don’t know if you remember me – I wrote once here that some of my readings are inspired from your book reviews. Currently I’m half through Possession, A Romance. It makes me laugh when I think of the writing classes and the rules taught in there, how not to write a novel … and how Byatt broke all the rules! But an author of her caliber could get away with murder. Yes, I do love the novel and I wish to thank you for the inspiration.
I hope your pic will win the contest.
Doina
Doina – I am so so excited to hear your thoughts about Possession!!!! Yes – she broke all the rules. Excellent observation! LOVE that book.
I feel the spell of that book and sharing my thoughts about it would make me happy. So many layers! When you think that I saw the movie without even knowing that it was based on such a fabulous novel.
But I don’t want to hijack the thread about Father’s Day. I’ll come back as soon as I finish reading – unfortunately I cannot carry such a hefty volume while schlepping around Manhattan, in the subway and the bus, so I read only at night.
Have a great week and good luck in all your projects.
Doina
Doina – I quite enjoyed the movie, which is really saying something – I feel quite “possessive” of Possession. I’ve been meaning for a long time to do a compare/contrast post – book to novel – It’ll take some time, which is why I keep putting it off. :)
Beautiful photo, Sheila. A lovely way to honor him.
