I suppose if I lived here I would get used to the whimsical Dr. Seuss-ish palm trees everywhere, but as a visitor, I am constantly delighted by them. They are ridiculous. Trees with a sense of humor about themselves.

They evolved in the ’60s to get their heads above the smog which I was breathing in at the time.
You made me home sick. I had some of those behind my lifeguard stand at Santa Monica beach. Sigh. Love living in NYC though.
The long arching necks of those palm trees make me very homesick for Los Angeles. I live very far away now (Black Hills of South Dakota) but California is still my home.
