Eyes on Iran

Iranian documentary filmmaker Mojtaba Mirtahmasb has been released from Evin Prison after three months in jail. He was arrested with five other documentary filmmakers, all of whom have been released as well.

Jafar Panahi still sits in jail.

Here is my review of This Is Not a Film, the extraordinary collaboration between Panahi and Mirtahmasb, which I saw at the New York Film Festival.

As I said before, it is one of the most important films ever made.

What is happening in Iran right now is the most important thing happening in the cinema world.

International pressure to release political prisoners held on bullshit charges rarely works.

Kudos to you and others who have accomplished a rare thing.
