Last night was the Los Angeles Premiere of Frankenstein, held at The Academy Museum. Guillermo del Toro and Kim were there, of course, and the whole cast was there. Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, Christian Convery. Also attending were cinematographer Dan Laustsen, composer Alexandre Desplat, production designer Tamara Deverell, costume designer Kate Hawley, editor Evan Schiff, Mike Hill (the genius who designed and built the creature), and producers J. Miles Dale and Scott Stuber. I interviewed most of those people for my book! I’m honored these people gave me their time and focus, responding to my follow-up emails, and basically just being cool and forthcoming and so friendly!
It’s exciting to be even a small part of this thing, as it tiptoes towards its audience.
