Thanks, Sheila. That whole daring thing seems a little laughable now, but that’s the way it was. At least for me.
I so so get it, though!
You know – if you watch the game again, you can still get that feeling. it’s bizarre. It was an emotional mindset – like Mark Johnson making the goal with 1 second left…. That kind of mental focus … And you can see the desperation, like you said, in the Russians during those last 10 minutes as they begin to realize … they’re scrambling – you just can feel it. And the Americans just did not give up. !!! I have goosebumps right now just thinking about it. :)
Emotional, yes…and kind of a karma thing. Or maybe a portent. Turned out that way from a big picure point of view.
