I meant to add that being amused seems to me as underappreciated as the state of happiness is overrated. Amusement is varied and transitory and often small, but happiness is some state we expect, or are expected, to achieve. Nothing against happiness of course, but sometimes I think people fail to enjoy the small moments of amusement when they get the chance because they are so intent on the pursuit of happiness.
Coming out of lurkdom to thank you for this “Happy Place” – isn’t she gorgeous, relaxing in her white terry robe with a script in her hand and that sweet expression in her face… can’t help but love her.
I am in need of “Happy Places” these days – and luckily I never fail to find me some in your blog. Thanks!!! :)
(oh were we??) – the wonderful Kim Morgan has a piece up about Don’t Bother to Knock – with Marilyn Monroe and Richard Widmark (rest in peace) – I remember Alex telling me I HAD to see this movie -…
I can see why. It’s a gorgeous shot. She looks like such an imp in this one!
What a nice shot. She looks so totally amused.

I’ve missed your comments, Ceci – you hang in there!!
Dave – I really really like your thoughts on amusement – never thought about it like that, but it makes a ton of sense!
Speaking of Marilyn Monroe …
