  2. Hank says:

    Outstanding write-up.
Timely also in that I have 2 Holden movies queued up, “Bridge on the River Kwai” and “The Counterfeit Traitor”.

There have been a few movies that left me thinking about them long after having seen them and 2 are Holden flicks, Sunset and Wild Bunch.

    Regards.

Emily – isn’t it great? Love him.

  4. red says:

    Hank –

Wild Bunch is amazing – I decided not to cover it and focus mainly on Sunset Boulevard and Bridge on River Kwai – but I agree: a powerful and deep performance!!

I’ve never seen The Counterfeit Traitor – let me know what you think of it.

  5. Emily says:

Me too, Sheila! I won’t get a chance to read your essay until a little later, but I can’t wait, especially since you’re covering Sunset! One of my all-time favorites!

  6. brendan says:

i don’t know how you get me all choked up about movies i’ve never seen!

and now they’re all on my list…

  7. Dan says:

Lovely piece, as usual. Maybe someday we’ll get your thoughts on The Wild Bunch in a separate article? Please?
