Family: What We All Are Reading

Bren: re-reading The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay (with bonus content): A Novel

Jean: reading The End of the Affair, and also Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli

Dad: reading The Far Side of the World (he finished Treason’s Harbour)

Siobhan: reading White Noise

Cashel: reading The Egypt Game (thank you, Lisa!!) (“I really relate to those kids!” raved Cash)

Me: finished The Loved One by Evelyn Waugh, finished Evil Genes: Why Rome Fell, Hitler Rose, Enron Failed, and My Sister Stole My Mother’s Boyfriend by Barbara Oakley, finished The Writing Class by Jincy Willett – and now I am 250 pages in to War and Peace – trying to catch up with my cousin Liam!! It’s such a huge book but it’s really quite easy to read. The SIZE is daunting but once you start it’s hard to put down. To imitate Cashel: I really relate to poor Princess Marya. Loving it.

Egypt Game was my absolute favorite when it came out. I love her The Headless Cupid too and the fact that she’s named Zylpha and that she autographed my copy of Egypt Game when I was in my twenties and signed it “Zil.” Is your dad reading the new Ethan Canin soon? I just got it!

I always feel like I read a lot… and then I look at what you’re reading. 1-2 books a week just doesn’t cut it in the world of Sheila! :)

By the way, loved and hated Prep! Loved it, but it reminded me of things I like to pretend didn’t happen the way they did. I get the feeling you know what I mean.

I love your family for all reading together.
