Jessica – Yeah, I was in love with Natalie Portman in Beautiful Girls – and I think she brings a strange jagged quality to her brief scene in Darjeeling Limited. I think she’s a limited actress (I saw her do the Seagull in Central Park with Meryl Streep and while she was full of feeling and earnestness she really didn’t know what to do with herself in that format) … but when she’s used well I think she’s fantastic!
Loved this film. Glad I didn’t see the poster, though. Too grim. I think the film is more optimistic than this.
Moore’s graphic novel is better, but I loved this movie all the same. Natlie Portman can surprise me sometimes with how good should is.
“she is” I mean. A slip probably stemming from her dispiriting work in the Star Wars prequels. But no one brought their A game to those anyway.
