Clip of Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe singing “When Love Goes Wrong” in Gentleman Prefer Blondes below the jump.
I love when the va-va-voom section of the song kicks in. It seems like we’re in for a melancholy ballad, but then, hey, look, the girls keep their spirits up after all.
Watch Monroe dance with a little kid – and somehow make it not be a dirty weird moment. It’s happy. Cute.
Another example of how you don’t have to do too much to get your point across. To tell the story. The choreography is simple, yet perfect. They’re in traveling suits and hats and gloves. A little shimmy from both of them can make your knees go weak.
C’est vrai, c’est vrai! Touche!
I love this movie so much. Few things can get me laughing like “…well Piggy was the python and I…I was the goat”
Monroe’s work in this film is grossly underrated.
