The ballots

Allison was smart. We filled out our ballots - checking off everything we thought would win - and then, of course, you have to pass them in. There are prizes and everything - and, not to jinx myself, but I think I might win something. I was guessing pretty much everything correctly. I got the Dutch poet one wrong ... but other than that, I was pretty much scoring. But anyway - before Allison handed in her ballot, she scribbled down on a napkin all of her choices - because sometimes it's hard to remember what you actually chose for Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Makeup, etc. For some reason - I loved the look of her napkin on the bar, and her fevered scribbling - so this comes to me, via Allison's cell phone. It kind of gives the spirit of the night. Oh, and it snowed! Beautiful fluttery snowfall, my favorite kind.

It may not be true, but I'm totally taking credit for recommending Blue Blood. How soon are you going up to the Bronx for stalking?

Lisa - you're totally the reason I picked that book up! I mean, RTG started it - but you're really the one. I am totally in love with it - his writing!! And yes, I really need to do some stalking. Or maybe go up there and commit a random crime so he can arrest me.

Maybe I'll wait for your mythical visit ... we can stalk him together. :)

Maybe it's just my current frame of mind, but I love the way that last photo makes it look like a giant Whisky Mothership is landing on your ballot.

Hahahaha - that's the description, Emily! I was at a loss. I have to say, though, that it's a tremendous visual effect and you should totally get a nomination next year.

My mother sent me Blue Blood last fall off my wish list and I was quite happy to receive it. I love how he is still a cop.
