I wrote on Andrey Zvyagintsev’s Loveless as our chosen contender for Best Foreign Film. (To be perfectly honest, my favorite foreign films weren’t even nominated this year. If it had been my choice to nominate in this category, I would have picked BPN. This is true, by the way, with all the categories. Very few of my favorites were even nominated. Such is life. But Loveless is my favorite of the nominees in the Foreign Film category.)
