It’s epic. Great Thanksgiving movie. Lots of #feels. Here’s my review of Queen & Slim on Ebert.

This sounds really good, I will check it out.
The Edith Sitwell quote you used prompted me to look up some more about her. I didn’t know she had met and liked Marilyn Monroe. Here’s an interview she gave about the meeting.

I thought her comment about Marilyn posing nude – “if people have never been poor, perhaps they don’t know what it is like to be hungry” – had a lot in common with Elvis’ response to the reporter who asked him why he signed the contract to do all those movies.
Thanks for that! and yes – Elvis! well and Marilyn herself was unapologetic about the nude pics – saying “The rent was due.” Fix the system. It’s not HER fault.
Edith Sitwell was kinda nutty and you can see why people disliked her, or rolled their eyes about her. A bohemian living in a baronial mansion. you know, it was a weird look. lol But she’s an interesting figure!!
I enjoyed Queen & Slim a lot! Let me know what you think! and thanks, as always, for reading – and for participating WITH my reading. I really appreciate it, and your contributions.
