It’s no secret Window Boy’s identity. Half of the people who read me already know who he is. Not naming him was never meant to be some coy thing. I am many things but I am not coy. And Window Boy wasn’t my nickname for him. I didn’t call him that in the piece I wrote about him crawling through my bedroom window (lol). A regular reader probably said something like, “Loved that piece on Window Boy” and it stuck. Oh, and he read that piece, just FYI. His only comment? “God, I loved that jacket.” WORDS cannot EXPRESS how much that made me laugh. Like: STILL with that g.d. jacket?? THAT’S your takeaway from that piece? Of COURSE it is. I am still laughing. I quoted him in one of my Film Comment pieces, which cracked me up, considering our wild-child Gen-X shenanigans, but we talked about improv and comedy so much and his comment always stuck with me, and I thought it was relevant to the piece. Anyway, he and I are still connected through social media, which is how I learned he appeared on a podcast to talk about improv. That’s how I met him back in the day, through improv. He’s legit legendary in improv circles. He was already on his way there when I met him and that was long ago, when we were basically kids. So if you want to hear a really interesting conversation about improv, from someone who really REALLY knows what he’s talking about, check it out!
