This Thursday: Elvis: That’s the Way It Is at Jacob Burns

This coming Thursday, I’ll be in Pleasantville, NY, at the Jacob Burns Film Center, to introduce the great 1970 concert film Elvis: That’s the Way It Is. It is “Elvis Week” after all, and I’m excited to pay tribute to his life and talent two days before the anniversary of his death. This film, too, is such a perfect celebration of who he was as an artist, with iconic legendary performances – seriously not sure if there’s anything more epic than the performance of “Suspicious Minds” here, but there are so many more. “Polk Salad Annie”, my God. I’ve watched the film countless times but never seen it on the big screen surrounded by an audience. Can’t wait!
