#tbt Photo booth with “sweater” I (thankfully) can’t recall

From Antonio’s stash. I appear to be wearing some kind of drapey hole-infested crochet-sweater-drape kind of thing, and I have zero memory of that monstrosity. I don’t think it was mine. I am in denial. What in the hippie-dippie crochet-doily is that? I’ve blocked it out.

I love you in this! Oh, I remember with fondness crocheted apparel like that :-) fabulous with a black shirt underneath! You were at the height of retro fashion, sweetie! Every girl I knew had crocheted knee-length vests with one button in the front, usually beige, worn with blouse and flared pants, maybe even with an Allie McGraw crocheted hat. It was the brave ones who wore multicolored versions :-) you are in great company! What fun it is to stumble upon evidence of interesting design choices we made (or were thrust upon us by well meaning relatives) in our besotted youth. I remember being incredibly proud of a pair of red white and blue plaid pants, which I wore with a dark blue shirt, wide white leather belt, white loafers, a pewter Libra medallion around my neck – and the pièce de résistance: a suede fringe vest. So very Brady! I loved myself in that outfit, so different from the Sears husky khaki pants and brown and orange-striped acrylic crewneck sweaters (alternated with my Cub Scout uniform) that were my go-to in those days. How I yearn for a fringed suede vest in this moment!

    Love you, XOXO Stevie

“so very Brady” ha!! I read with baited breath each element of your outfit. the “pewter Libra medallion”! Stylish!

I think I had flared pants – and I did wear berets, but black felt berets. I’ve never been a clothes horse so in general I remember every outfit I’ve ever worn, lol. And so that’s why I saw these photo booth pics and was like “wait WHAT”? I don’t think I’ve seen any other pictures of me wearing this crochet thing.

the whole long flowy thing with one button in front is now back in style and I am enjoying it. I have heard tell that the powers that be are calling these items “shackets” and I refuse – REFUSE – to participate.

Love you stevie! Hope you are doing well!
