If you insist on making a film adaptation of a book where said book takes its entire thematic structure from Ted Hughes’ 1970 poetry collection Crow– and if in your adaptation you cut out all references to Ted Hughes – well, it is your prerogative to do so, but I feel duty-bound to say “why on earth would you do that.” Especially with such a well-known book. My review of The Thing with Feathers at Ebert.
