Beautiful!

The caption of the photo on Yahoo reads:

Two horses run through the deep snow on a meadow near Bayrischzell, Upper Bavaria, southern Germany, on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005. Heavy snowfalls added a thick layer of fresh snow to the Upper Bavaria region overnight.

One of my favorite sights at my parents’ place in CO: when we take the horses out in the morning to graze on the open land, after you let them out of the gate, they just run for it. It’s absolutely beautiful to watch, especially with the mountains and the big, puffy clouds in the background.

I am reminded of the horses my neighbors across the road used to keep. In winter, the trees being bare, I could watch them from the kitchen windows as the horses ran chasing each other through the snow. But they’re gone now, unfortunately, the neighbors and the horses both.

I remember the story you told about…New Mexico, I believe it was? Where the storm was approaching, and you and your boyfriend sat there, and watched the wild horses run past for whatever reason.

I’m sure you know exactly how those horses feel running through that snow.

I’m reminded of the horses I used to see as I drove to my job in Hunt Valley through the back roads to avoid the highway. People used to be so impressed with them that they’d just pull over to the side and gawk at them, while leaning on the fence.

Of course, police would have to pass through on occasion to suggest against trespassing, especially when the weather finally broke in March or April.

I’m equally as fascinated with fish. I can spend hours on an odd Saturday in the Aquarium Center looking at fish.
