Annika has a cool post up right now:
“What is the most amazing sight you have ever seen?”
The answers from people are just … beautiful. Not surprising at all that so many of the answers involve nature.
Here’s one of mine – which I shared (briefly) over there.
It’s kind of got me thinking about other “most amazing sights” I’ve seen.
I’ll post on those a bit later – in the meantime, go check out Annika’s post and join the discussion!
That’s a tough question, there have been so many. Or maybe I’m just easily amazed. :)
If I have to pick it’s the total eclipse of the sun I saw in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba in 1979. I can see why primitive societies freaked out about them.
I’ll be sappy…but definitely seeing my son for the first time after he was born. I had a c section so I couldn’t really get a good look at him for several minutes (seemed like forever) because they had him in the room next door while they stitched me back together, and when they finally wheeled me into the recovery room…I finally got to see him. He had this look of “where the hell am I?” but it was awesome.
I’d love to do an “expert post” on this sometime if you’d let me.
wow..lots of thought..but i think it was the first time I saw Judy Garland singing “Ol’ Man River” on her CBS tv show… she sang it more than once…but the time with the black dress…i was truly “amazed” in the real-est sense of the word..ive seen it literally hundreds of times and it still blows me away..i guess when it comes down to it..she IS a force of nature..the perfect storm of talent and emotion.
