Definitely. He doesn’t have that jaded look he developed later on. I think Elvis was at his most appealing at the beginning – when it was all new and he wasn’t yet irritated with the endless movies and before the drug problem and jumpsuits.
How a man could swivel his hips like that and still have something almost like an innocence about him is beyond me – but in the beginning he had that and it was part of his incredible charm.
Incedentally – great timing because I just pulled out my Elvis albums last night and was listening to them and trying to decide which song is my favorite (which I have yet to determine).
