My cousin Kerry O’Malley is on the main page of Playbill at this very moment. She is now in St. Paul, about to open in White Christmas at the Ordway Center (here’s the promo about it). Irving Berlin’s White Christmas was done last year in Boston – Kerry starred in it then as well – and although I didn’t get to see it, I heard TONS about it from my family – my father loved it – and Kerry said it was about the most fun she had ever had doing a show.
So now she’s off in Minnesota … and I kind of wish I could get out there to see it.
I know I have readers in Minnesota – so if you want a great night at the theatre for the whole family, fun, happy, feel-good – definitely go see White Christmas!
And clap the loudest for Kerry, won’t you??
Ticket information here.

oo!
Cool! I see it runs until Jan. 7 – I should be able to afford to go by then!
I’m also going to my first show at the new Guthrie next month. Woo hoo!
I already have tickets! I’m seeing it on Dec. 20th. I was already looking forward to it, and now really am! (a friend of mine works at the Ordway, and tells me its wonderful)
… and I kind of wish I could get out there to see it.
So what’s stopping you?
“There might not be legions of TSV fans who’ll meet me for a drink?”
No, we can rule that out.
Next?
Mitch – ha. I just can’t! I’m going to Chicago in a couple weeks – and probably LA again before the end of the year – or maybe early January so I just have to budget my travel time. sniff!!
Melissa: I love that you already have tickets! Have a blast – I have heard wonderful things about it, and Kerry is just a marvelous actress and singer.
Sheila, you rock. Thanks for the plug.
It is a truly wonderful show, two and a half hours of joy — beautiful costumes, great sets, gorgeous dancing, the best songs ever — a whole score of Irving Berlin. I am so happy to be doing it again. Come if you can, and if you’re in Detroit, there is another company of the same production there.
And Sheila, happy belated birthday — we were in tech, so sorry I missed it!
Love Kerry
Just checking back in at this post to say I saw this show last night – its wonderful. And Kerry is amazing!
