I know I have mentioned how much I love the blog A Dress A Day.
She does this series she calls “Drabble” where she posts a picture of a dress and imagines what the dress must be thinking. I just love it.

Isn’t it a great blog? Makes me wish I had time to pull my sewing machine out of the closet and actually use it. Maybe over Christmas–I have plenty of sewing projects that have been sitting around for years waiting for me to get to them.
Believe it or not, the dress in Drabble 1 is almost exactly like the dress my mother forced me to wear in a St. Patrick’s Day beauty pageant.
Yes…a BEAUTY PAGEANT!
I was missing a few teeth and upon looking at pictures of that great day, my hair was lopsided. Add that to the fact that I was wearing the ugliest most uncomfortable dress that scratched my neck so I was constantly pulling at it, you can pretty much bet I didn’t win! ;)
For me, nothing tops her “Secret Lives of Dresses” – I love how they are clever and sometimes a little funny but often beautifully melancholy – as if it’s sad to realize that no one stops to think about the situation from the dress’ point of view. And the most interesting dresses almost always have the saddest story – I read those blogs and can “see” the women she is creating the dress’ story around. It’s like noir woman angst from a dress perspective.
