  1. Michael Thomas says:

    “It’s A Wonderful Life” ?
    Happy New Year, Sheila.

  2. red says:

    Michael – you too!!

    Nope – not It’s a wonderful life – although that’s a very good guess.

  3. I won’t spoil anybody else’s chances at guessing, but this is one of my all time favorite movies so I’ll give you another quote from it:

“For the love of pete, it’s the witch and dopey.”

  4. red says:

Robert – ha!! I was hoping you’d show up!

“When I find myself in a position like this, I ask myself what would General Motors do? And then I do the opposite!”

    Go ahead and name it!!

  5. Alex says:

    Oh crud.

    Crud, crud.

    Thinking, thinking……

I’m so excited! I love your movie quotes game!!!!

  7. Then I give you 1938’s great “Holiday” which, IMHO, is Kate n’ Cary’s best movie together (although I know many others will disagree).

I was reaching hard for the quote about honorary membership in the John n’ Julia, Nick n’ Susan Anti-Stuffed Shirt and Flying Trapeze Club, but couldn’t quite get it.

  8. red says:

Robert – Yes!! You know, I think (in my humble opinion) that Hepburn has never been better than she was in this film. I know there is so much to choose from – but there’s just something about her here – the individuality, the pathos, the passion, the awkwardness – She really just nails it.

And yes – I love Cary and her here – especially when they do acrobatics in the play room together!!

  9. red says:

And I just love the Potters. I want to marry a man like that and live a life like the one those 2 live.

How about the whole rigmarole with the butler taking one of Mr. Potter’s shoes by accident? ha!!

reading old posts on a Saturday night… Holiday is my ALL TIME favorite movie! I got so excited when I read the quote. When I’ve had a terrible day at work I walk out saying, “Oh somebody try and stop me,oh somebody please!”
