Love that movie, so under-rated. I finally got my husband to watch it it a couple months ago. First he was pissed (he’s a huge Grant fan) I had never shown him this movie, “You’ve been holding out a Cary Grant movie on me”. Geez honey its not like I just sold the kids. When it was over “I f*@kin’ love that guy, he can do it all, even being an a**hole he rocks”. I agreed and all was forgiven, then we watched it again :)
Jennchez – ha!!!! I remember showing it to my brother for the first time and he was absolutely blown away. It’s so fun to “show” this movie to people. It’s PERFECT. Not one wrong note.
So true! I remember the first time I saw it thinking “why aren’t more people talking about this strange movie where Cary Grant is a jerk and a single car is traipsing around South America and an adulterous wife is wreaking havoc?” It felt soooo different and I’ve always loved it. The other movie that struck me in a similar way which I always wish you would review, Sheila, is Ten North Frederick with Cary Cooper. It’s one of my favorites and I have an extra copy if you’d like one.
